His age was 72. He was a native of Scotland; and came to this country when about 25 years old. He had been a resident of this city 43 years. He was a reticent man, and not as widely known as some long-time residents, but was a good citizen and held in high esteem by many friends. He was a gardener by occupation and well skilled in his calling. He was married to Mrs. Stiven, a daughter of David Baldie, a pioneer resident who died many years ago in 1866. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Dr. Oxtoby, will be held at the residence on High street, at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery.
