Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 2 Aug 1951

Arthur W. Goodell, 77, of Saranac, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the 
Ionia Rest home on East Main street after being a patient there since July 26.  
He was transferred to the rest home from Ionia County Memorial hospital where 
he had been a medical patient for two days.

He was born July 15, 1874, in Michigan.  He had been a farmer in Keene township 
for many years until he was taken ill four years ago.  At that time he and his 
family moved into Saranac village to live.

Surviving are five sons, Lyle and Donald of Saranac, Carlton of Flint, Fred of 
Mt. Pleasant and Kenneth of Hammond, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. June Warner of 
Saranac and Mrs. Esther Stebbins of Keene; eight grandchildren; one brother, 
Willard of Oregon; and two sisters, Mrs. Maude Davies of Williamston and Mrs. 
Ruth Walters of Lowell.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Morris funeral 
home.  The Rev. Glen McCarty will officiate.  Interment will be in Saranac 
cemetery.
