GOLDIE ILENE GOODEN 1930-2016
Goldie Ilene Gooden, 86, of Marion, Michigan passed away Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 
Munson Medical center in Traverse city, Michigan. She was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Big
Rapids, and is the daughter of Mae (Keiper) Kilbourn and Paul Thompson of Big
Rapids.

Goldie married Clyde Brand on Aug. 30, 1957, who proceeded her in death in March of
1984. Goldie later remarried William Gooden in 1988 in Ls Vegas, who preceded her in
death in September 2004. She owned and operated Brands Valley restaurant for 10
years and retired from Root Lowell manufacturing.

She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was
about family and giving to others.

She had four children; Son Clyde (Sonny) Brand II who proceeded her in death in
December of 2007; and daughters Debra Sheppard, Brenda Fancett (Terry Fancett), Kathie Simon
(Craig Simon). She has 12 grandchildren; Brad Brand, Nick Brand, Adam Brand, Kyle
Sharp, Michael Brand, Leslie Packard, Lance Kilbourn, Dustin Kilbourn, Billy Joe Hastings,
Jamie Fancett, Heather Dorman and Marion Simon. She has many great-grandchildren who were
her pride and joy. Goldie had 11 brothers and sisters.

Goldie's smile, generosity, and loving nature will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be Friday May 20, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral
following at 1 p.m.. Pastor Keith Mannes will be officiating the ceremony at Barden Funeral 
homes in Stanton,MI. Interment at Evergreen cemetery in Sheridan, followed by a luncheon at
the VFW.
