Goodenough, 83, died at his home in Muir Sunday evening at 8 o’clock. Born in Lyons township, September 30, 1865, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin W. Goodenough, he went with his parents to Barry county when he was a small boy. He was married to Mary Weaver of Hastings and on August 15, 1920, he married Viola Tanner of Ionia township. The past 11 years he has lived in Muir. He was a stone mason by trade. Surviving are the widow, Viola, a daughter, Mrs. Florence Bristle, of Lansing; a son, Daniel of Hastings, a step-son, Walter Priest of Ionia, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one brother, Irving Goodenough of Hastings, one sister, Mrs. Bertha Lancaster of Lake Odessa. One daughter, Mrs. Dora Denney, died two years ago. Funeral services will be held from the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Leon Huested, at Muir, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. Peter Bissett will officiate and interment will be held at Tuttle cemetery. The body will repose at the Stone funeral home in Ionia until 10 o’clock Wednesday morning.
