Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 29 Dec 1949

George W. Goodenough, 79, died Wednesday evening about 11:30 at the Ionia County
Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since Monday.

He was born September 17, 1870 in Orange township, the son of Rufus and Alvira
Goodenough.  He was one of ten children.  He was married in 1893 to Rachael
Brooks of Ionia.  She died December 7, 1933.  He lived all his life in Ionia
county, the greatest part of it in Orange township.

He was a member of the LeValley Methodist church.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carl Hauserman of Saranac, a son, Rufus, of
Belding, four grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Harriet Fullin??on, who made
her home with him.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the
Boynton funeral home with the Rev. Willis B. Hunting of the LeValley church
officiating.  Interment will be in River Ridge cemetery, Belding.
