He had been in failing health for some time although he seemed to be greatly improved Tuesday morning when he had a sudden heart attack. He was a pioneer of Ionia county having been born in 1849 in Orange township where he lived practically all of his life except for a few years in Odessa township. Levi was next to the oldest of a family of ten children of which six have preceded him in death. In 1875 he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen A. McKown. They made their home in Odessa township where they cleared the land and built a home. Later they moved to a farm in Orange township where Mrs. Goodenough died in April 1934. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Housserman, of Orange, and Mrs. George Bennett, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and a brother, George Goodenough, of Saranac, and two sisters, Mrs. John Fullington and Mrs. John Coon, of Berlin. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the farm home of George Bennett with interment at the Letts cemetery in Berlin."
