F. Goodenow, well known to the public here as formerly business manager of the Enterprise, died last night at the Everett House, of spinal meningitis. Mr. Goodenow’s illness was of very short duration, and its sudden and fatal termination will shock those to whom his many good qualities had greatly endeared him. He was the senior partner in the firm of W. F. Goodenow & Co., grocery and provision merchants of Alpena. He was prominent among the Republicans of that place, and would probably have been elected mayor in the spring. The remains of the late W. F. Goodenow were yesterday taken in charge by his brother-in-law, who left with them by the J.L. & S. Road in the afternoon for Ionia, where they are to be buried by the side of his mother. – Saginaw Enterprise. The funeral of the deceased took place at the residence of his brother-in-law W. S.
