Portland Review, 22 May 1995

Alfred F. Goodman, Sr., 85, of Portland died May 14, 1995.  Mr. Goodman was born
July 23, 1909, the son of Christian and Elizabeth (Hufnagel) Goodman.  He was
retired from Fisher Body and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the
Knights of Columbus, and the Grand River Conservation Club.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy; five daughters, Elizabeth Seal and Louise
(James) Gensterblum, both of Portland, Alice (Dave) Bills of St. Johns, and
Denise Goodman and Nancy (Rick) Yager, both of Lansing; six sons, Alfred Jr.
(Carol), James (Mary-Ann), Patrick (Luane) and Neil (Kerri) Goodman, all of
Portland, Peter Goodman of St. Johns, and Dennis Goodman of Lansing; 27
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Goodman of
Westphalia.  He was preceded in death by one son, Michael; and son-in-law,
Gordon Seal.

Rosary was recited May 15, 16, and 17.  Mass of the Christian Burial was held
May 18 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Larry King officiating. 
Interment followed at Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were handled by the
Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel, Portland.
