Ionia Standard, 24 Nov 1893

Mrs. Emma Benedict Goodrich, daughter of Leander Benedict, died at Ionia, Nov. 
17, 1893, at the age of 39 years and 29 days.  She had been a great sufferer 
for nearly a year from internal cancer, and died as the result of an operation 
for same.  The funeral was held at her father’s home, Sunday, Nov. 19.  Rev. C. 
A. Cusick, of Jackson, at request of deceased, officiated at the funeral, and 
preached from the text Matt. 24:44.  Deceased leaves two children, a father, 
four brothers and one sister to mourn her loss.

[Transcriber's Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that she was 
buried in Wheeler Cemetery.]
