Ionia County News, 22 Aug 1929

Dr. John Goodsell, 55, of Lake Odessa, died Monday evening at the home of his 
brother, Byron Goodsell, after an illness which has endured during the past 
year.  While death was not unexpected his condition being known to be serious, 
it was not thought until shortly before death that his illness was extremely 
critical at the time.  

He formerly was a practicing dentist at Saginaw where he has one son, Dr. J. 
Orton Goodsell, who now is practicing dentistry.

Funeral services were held from the Byron Goodsell home Wednesday afternoon.  
The body was sent to Saginaw where burial was in the family lot.

He is survived by his wife, his son, two brothers, Byron and Clare both of Lake 
Odessa, a sister, Mrs. Quick and his mother, Mrs. May Goodsell, also of Lake 
Odessa.
