Goodsell was held on Sunday afternoon at his late residence on north main street. Rev. A. T. Luther conducted the service and the choir of the Methodist church sang appropriate hymns. Dr. Goodsell was a resident of lake Odessa a few years ago, and kept a dental office. Later he moved to Clarksville where he lived until about four months ago. At that time his son Byron took a position in Mr. Lapo’s hardware store and the family came here to live. Dr. Goodsell had been suffering from a stroke of paralysis for about six months and had not been able to leave his bed since coming here. Through weeks of pain and weakness he has been a patient sufferer. On Thursday, July 9th he fell asleep to wake no more in this life. He was the son of John O. and Matilda Goodsell and was born in Bath, Steuben Co., N.Y. July 9th, 1841. When a child his parents settled in Fallasburg, Kent Co. He was joined in marriage to Mary E. Davis, Feb. 1865 and they made their home in Lowell. Six children were born to them, four of them are now living and were present at the funeral, Mrs. James Ball of Portland, John O. of Saginaw, Clare C. of Clarksville and Byron of Lake Odessa, these children with his wife and a brother and sister mourn his loss. The interment took place at Lakeside cemetery.
