The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, January 2, 1940


Mrs. Sara E. Goodwin, 85, widow of Marcellus Goodwin of Easton township, died 
about 1 o’clock Monday morning, January 1, in the Ionia Community hospital.

Mrs. Goodwin fell and broke her hip about three weeks ago, and had been a 
patient in the Ionia Community hospital since that time.  One daughter, Mrs. 
Noah Bishop, who lived with her mother in the old home near the Goodwin school, 
survives.

Funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday afternoon, January 3, at 
2 o’clock.  Rev. Fredrick G. Dunbar will officiate, and interment will be in 
the Easton cemetery.
