Crystal M. Goodwin, 97, of 722 E. Main St., Ionia, a former Portland resident,
died Tuesday at her home.  She was born Aug. 28, 1892, in Lowell, the daughter
of Edward and Rose Sargeant Albright.

She was a member of Portland Rebekah Lodge and Past Noble Grand association; she
was a charter member of Portland Blue Star Mothers and was also a member of
Portland United Methodist Church.

She was married to Charles Goodwin March 10, 1913.  He died in 1956.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Esther) Bailey of Portland and
Eleanor Hayes of Ionia; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a
sister-in-law, Mable Teachout of Portland.  A daughter, Barbara Stoel, and two
sons, Harold and Charles Goodwin Jr., preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. from the Neller Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Stanley Finkbeiner officiating.  Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
