He was born in Ionia April 24, 1930 the son of Elton and Cereta (Wandell) Goodwin. Mr. Goodwin was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Bernard was a member of the Conservation Club, and he was an avid gardener, golfer and fisherman. He also loved to play cards. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elton and Joe Goodwin; sister, Lorraine. Surviving are his wife, Ann Goodwin of Portland; sons, Ken (Dawn) Goodwin of Lansing, Keith (Siri) Goodwin of Spring, Texas, Kevin (Linda) Goodwin of Portland and Ken (Sharalyn) Monks of Elsie; daughters, Kerri (Neil) Goodman, Kendra (Mike) Zumsteg, Brenda Monks and Robin (Scott) Hoppes, all of Portland; 16 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his special riding buddy Sidney Monks; brothers, Burdette (Joyce) Goodwin of Arizona and Elmer (Dawn) Goodwin of Wolverine; sisters, Reva and Eileen of Maple Rapids. Services were conducted by the Rev. Marilyn V. Danielson, Pastor of the First Congregational Church of Portland March 28 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland.
