Goodwin, 82, widow of Charles I. Goodwin, died Friday morning at 1:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Ms. Jacob Moore, in Ionia. She had been confined to her bed since December 1940. She was born at Maple Corners in Ionia county on February 24, 1859, and was the daughter of Mary Tuttle and Lewis Ferguson. Except for about two years which she lived in Kansas, she spent her entire life in Michigan. She married Charles I. Goodwin December 20, 1882. She was a member of the LeValley Methodist church, and was active in all of its organizations. She was a charter member of the Women's Foreign Missionary society of the church. Preceding her in death were her husband, who died Oct. 19, 1940, and her son, O.T. Goodwin of Adrian, who died February 28, 1942. A daughter, Lora, died in Japan 16 years ago. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Moore; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the Boynton funeral home. Rev. Ralph Bates will officiate and interment will be at Highland Park mausoleum.
