E. I. Goodwin of near Lyons died at the Leila Post hospital at Battle Creek 
Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock where he was taken December 22.  He was 72 
years old.  

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ingham Goodwin of North Plains, born July 8, 
1865.  September 19, 1988 he was married to Miss Ada Stout of North Plains who 
passed away May 5, 1904.  To them were born five children, Mrs. Ethel Morse of 
Durand, Mrs. Inez Estill and Dan Goodwin both of Battle Creek, Ingham Goodwin 
of Portland, and Mrs. Hazel Weeks of Detroit, who survive.

In the year 1905, November 9, he was married to Miss Theresa Stout of Stanton 
who survives with one son, Kenneth, at home, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Letha 
Gates of Matherton, and Mrs. Eunice Fenn of Mio, eighteen grandchildren and 
one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church in Lyons Thursday 
afternoon, February 17 at 2 o’clock with Rev. Joseph Wilson of Lyons 
officiating.  Interment will be at North Plains cemetery near the Union Church.
