The Ionia Standard, Friday, April 12, 1889
Easton – Mrs. Ann Goodwin died at her home in this township on the 29th nlt., 
after an illness of three days.  She had been real well during the winter and 
on the Monday previous to her death on Thursday, attended the funeral of a 
friend at Belding.  She enjoyed the ride, but complained of chilliness on 
nearing home.  After reaching home she was taken with a severe chill from the 
effects of which she never recovered.

Ann Curtis was born in Ogden Township, Monroe county, N.Y., December 11, 1819, 
was married to Levi O. Goodwin, of the same county, January 11, 1836; in 1842 
they moved
to Carlton, Orleans county, N.Y., remained there until 1852, at which time 
they came to Ionia county, locating at Potter’s corners in Keene; in 1855 they 
moved into Easton, where they built up the pleasant home that they have 
occupied since.  Mrs. Goodwin’s greatest enjoyment seemed to be in 
contributing to the happiness of others.  No one of our acquaintances has done 
more in ministering to the wants and needs of the afflicted than she.  Her 
removal from amongst us is deeply regretted.  The husband and children have 
the sympathy of all acquaintances.
