Craig Michael Gorby, 34 of Detroit, formerly of Ionia, passed away August 15, 
2003 in Detroit.  He was born July 3, 1969 in Grand Rapids the son of Keith 
and Lorraine (Kopczynski) Gorby.  He attended Ionia Public School until 
graduating in 1987.  He then attended MSU for three years.  He owned and 
operated Gorby Construction in Detroit.

He is survived by his loving parents Keith and Lorrie Gorby of Ionia; special 
friend Lisa and her son Reme of Detroit; brothers, Brandon Gorby of Grand 
Blanc, Brett Gorby of Holland; sister Renae Gorby and fiance Charlie Bartley 
of Grand Rapids; grandmother Laurel Gorby of Saranac; many aunts, uncles and 
cousins.  He was preceded in death by grandfather Pearl Gorby; grandparents, 
Joseph and Rose Kopczynski, and one uncle Tom Kopczynski.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia with Chaplain Jim Salo officiating.  The family will 
receive friends and relatives Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday from 12 
p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
