Ionia County News, 7 Feb 1952

Mrs. Rose Gordon died at two o’clock Sunday afternoon, February 3, in Ionia 
County Memorial hospital.  She had been a patient in the Taylor convalescent 
home and was moved to the hospital following a heart attack a week earlier.

Rose Stenabaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Stenabaugh was born August 6, 
1862 in Lynden, Ontario.  She came to Michigan in 1880 to make her home with 
relatives.

In 1902 she was married to James Howitt of Easton and lived on a farm in the 
township until Mr. Howett’s death in 1919.

She came to Ionia after her husband’s death, and in 1927 was married to Frank 
Gordon.  They lived in Fowler until 1942 when she returned to Ionia.  Mr. 
Gordon died in 1934.

Rev. W. W. Pixley officiated at the funeral service held Tuesday afternoon.  
Burial was in Easton cemetery.
