Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2 Sep 1958

Valdemer H. Gormsen of East Main street, Saranac, died Monday morning at Ionia
County Memorial hospital.  He had been ill about a year.  Mr. Gormsen was born
October 30, 1911 at Allendale.  He and his family moved to Saranac from Otsego
about five years ago.  He was superintendent of the Saranac Milk Co.  Mr.
Gormsen was a member of Saranac Community church.

Surviving are his wife, Marina; his mother, Mrs. Laurentza Gormsen of Saranac;
five daughters, Mrs. Valerie Sisson of Ionia, and Marilyn, Gayle, Laurie and
Julie, all at home; one son, Peter, at home; one brother, Elmer Gormsen of
Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Katrinka Fisher of Traverse City, and several nieces
and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Saranac Community church at 11 a.m. Thursday
with the Rev. Howard E. Bull officiating, followed by another service at 3 p.m.
at the Congregational church at Otsego.  The Revs. Howard E. Bull and Seth Clay
will officiate.  Bearers will be Edward Wolthuis, Harold Dean, William Serne,
Thomas Warner, Donald Kimble and Ivan Babcock.  The body will be at the Morris
funeral home in Saranac until time for the services.
