GOSTNELL Mrs.Ivy F. Gostnell, 52, of 2408 Maplewood Ave., Lansing passed away Thursday afternoon at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing following a six year illness. She had been hospitalized since February first, with the exception of one week spent at home during that time. She was bon January 10, 1923 in County Durham, England, the daughter of Thomas and Annie (Kirby) Hobkirk. She married Everett Gostnell April 6th, 1946 at Seham Harbor, England and came to Lake Odessa with her husband in 1946. They lived here until moving to Lansing in 1949 and had also lived for three years in Florida. Mrs.Gostnell was a charter member of theLansing Branch of Trans-Atlantic Brides and Parents Association. Surviving are her husband Everett G; two sons, Robert and Michael of Florida; two daughters, Mrs.William (Ivy) Powell of Charlotte and Mrs.Joe (Sherry) Whitesides of Holt; five grandchildren, her mother, Mrs. Annie Hobkirk of Seham, England, two sisters, Mrs.Elizabeth Willis of Seham, Harbor, England and Mrs.Fred(Doris) McCabe of Peterelee, England, and a brother Thomas Hobkirk of Seham, Harbour, England. Mrs. Gostnell reposed at the Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa where funeral services were held Saturday at two p.m. Rev. Jeremiah Boomer officiated with burial in lakeside cemetery.
