She was 80 years old. Elma Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus Smith, was born in Ionia Township, November 24, 1869. She attended Ionia schools and taught in three of the county rural schools before her marriage to George B. Gott, in 1891. Their married life was spent on the farm where Mrs. Gott died Monday, the farm that had been in the Gott family for nearly 100 years. She is survived by Mrs. Young, Easton, a son A.W. Gott, Ionia, two grandchildren, Mrs. Arnold Balzell and Mrs. Robert Pierce, of Ionia, and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Gott died 14 years ago. Rev. Paul L. Stewart will officiate at the funeral which will be from Stone-Kauffman Funeral Home, Thursday afternoon. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Bearers will be Harold Anslow, Walter Yeomans, Royce Whorley, Elmer Coates, Ed Timmerman and Harry Nelson. ------------------------- Funeral services for Mrs. Elma Gott who died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Young, of Easton were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Stone-Kauffman Funeral Home. Dr. Paul Stewart officiated. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Miss Marjorie Yeomans and Mrs. Walter Yeomans were in charge of the flowers. Her bearers were Harold Anslow, Walter Yeomans, Royce Whorley, Ed Timmerman, Elmer Coates and Harry Nelson. Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Smith of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. James Brown of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Higley of Grant Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lindsey of Elma, Mr. and Mrs. Myles Hansen and family of McBrides, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Higley of Lyons, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Amann, Joann and Helen, of Battle Creek, Mr. and Mrs. James Little and Mrs. Susie Little of Palo and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sherwood of Carson City.
