She had been confined to her bed but a few hours, and had been about her usual duties up to Saturday night. She had, however, been in poor health for several years, being a great, though uncomplaining and quiet, sufferer from a cancer in the breast. Mrs. Gott and her husband were among the earliest settlers of this township, experiencing all the trials and hardships of pioneer life. The deceased always enjoyed the love and esteem of the entire community. Her life was spotless and she leaves a large circle of sorrowing friends. Her only son, John N. Gott, of Boonville, Missouri, is expected on every train. She has been an honored and consistent member of the Universalist Church of this place for many years at which place her funeral services will be held this afternoon. [Transcriber's Note: There is a notation on the obituary card that she was buried in Portland Cemetery.] File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/ionia/obits/g/gott2954nob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
