Terburgh officiating. While there are those, as in all such cases, to whom she is alleged to have told this and that, there is no doubt but that several causes led her to commit the rash act – disappointment real or imaginary (or both), domestic troubles and the belief that her whole family with the exception of her son Willis had turned against her. Arrangements which she made and details which she attended to personally before her death leave not the shadow of a doubt that it was premeditated; but it is no less sad the taking of one’s own life under such circumstances. Deceased was a consistent member of the Congregational church and was worthy the respect in which she was held. Mrs. Gott was 60 years of age and beside a husband leaves three children Mrs. E. B. Huntoon and Willis and Gerry Gott all residing in Portland.
