Belding – Berneda M. Gould, 91, of Belding, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 
2003 at United Memorial Health Center Long Term Care Unit, Greenville.  She was 
born April 20, 1911, in Flint, the daughter of Phyleetus and Rose Steele 
VanWagoner.

She graduated from Fenton High School with the class of 1929.  She was a member 
of South Lake Wales Church of God in Florida and New Hope Church of God in 
Belding.  She married Dale C. Gould on Nov. 8, 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale C. Gould, on Sept. 8, 1998; her 
parents; three sisters, Marguerite Torry, Eva Padgett, Harriet Tindalle; three 
brothers, Milton, Harold J. and Phyleetus VanWagoner; daughter, Geraldine 
Spencer; grandson, Michael Juarez; and great-grandson, Jonathan J. Hansen.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Robert Hansen of 
Belding, Jacquelyn and Donald Blundon of King, Wis., Mary Lou and Clarence 
Christiansen of Rockford, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine 
great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ellen and William 
Pattan of Hale; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lorna VanWagoner of 
Belding.

Funeral and committal services are at 11a.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein 
Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kelly Munger officiating.  Interment is in 
Rest Haven Memory Gardens.  Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.  Memorial 
contributions may be made to New Hope Church of God or United Memorial Health 
Center Long Term Care Unit, Greenville.
