Gould, 67, died last Thursday at his home near Harbor Springs following a brief illness. Funeral rites were held on Saturday at Levering church and burial was made in the Harbor Springs cemetery. Mr. Gould was born in Saranac to Mr. and Mrs. Nathan F. Gould, November 25, 1877, and spent all of his earlier life here, graduating from Saranac high school and the University of Michigan law school. In the year 1900 he was married to Harriet Patrick, also of Saranac, and they later moved to Grand Rapids where he continued in law practice, finally settling in Harbor Springs where they made their home until her death in 1930. Three years later he married Mrs. Cecil Carlton Mitchell of Levering. Mr. Gould was prominent in Emmet county affairs, was circuit court commissioner for 20 years and held many other important offices and was an active member of the Masonic order. Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Bruce Nelson of Northport and Mrs. Donald Seeley of Bangor, and one brother, Dr. Glen M. Gould, of Spokane, Washington.
