Coroner Richard Hull ruled death due to a heart attack. She was born in Lyons, August 4, 1898, the daughter of Myron E. and Almina Chase Brown. She attended school in Lyons and worked several years at Michigan Reformatory as the warden’s stenographer. She then went to work as a receptionist for Dr. Lintner after which she was employed at the courthouse for the friend of the court until her retirement in 1963. In 1921 she was married to George Goward who died in 1951. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Emery Townsend of Hanford, Calif., six grandchildren; brother, Prescott Brown of Ionia and a sister, Nellie Brown of Olympia, Wash. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Boynton-Leddick funeral home. Rev. Robert McComb of First Presbyterian church will officiate and interment will be at Tuttle cemetery.
