Sentinel-Std. - Monday, Aug. 12, 1974

A former Ionia resident, Luman Edward Grace, 69, of 2658 West Lake Road, 
Lakeview, died of a heart attack Saturday morning at the Sheridan Community 
hospital. He had been admitted August 8.

He was born in Edmore, January 27, 1905, the son of the late George H. and Alto 
L. Grace. He lived in Ionia during the 1920's and 1930's and worked at the 
Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company before moving to Lansing with his family.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lena Stine of Lakeview, eight children, 
Mrs. Geraldine Westworth of Ionia, LeRoy E. Grace of Marysville, Wash, Luman E. 
Grace of Charlotte, Ms. Elaine Hunt of Flint, William L. Grace of Flint, Paul D. 
Grace, who is with the USAF, Tucson, Ariz. and Joe O. Grace of Charlotte; two 
sisters, Mrs. Ruby Drake of Lansing, Mrs. Gertrude Reed of Grand Rapids; 29 
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm Tuesday at the Stebbins funeral home at Edmore. 
Rev. LaVern Bretz of DeWitt will officiate and interment will be at Lakeview 
cemetery.
