Grace, 82, of 1011 West Main, died in Ionia County Memorial hospital Monday morning. Born in Hubbardston, September 12, 1889, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremins Grace and married Ann O’Conner in Carson City, September 17, 1912. She preceded him in death February 1, 1972. The couple had moved to Ionia from Carson City in 1932, and he retired from the reformatory in June 1956. He was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic church. Surviving are one brother, Charles Grace of Lansing, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Myers-Roetman funeral home where prayers will be said at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Members of the family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Carson City and burial will be in Maryknoll cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Friday, February 18, 1972 Msgr. Edward Jaworowicz of SS Peter and Paul church in Ionia gave mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Carson City Thursday at 10 a.m. for Joseph H. Grace, who died Monday. Interment was at Maryknoll cemetery at Carson City. Bearers were Robert Grace, Lyle, Gene and Jay O’Connor, Porter Couzzins and James Heahan.
