Frederick Graff, 83 years of age, well-known resident of the city for many years, passed away at his home, 677 Union street Saturday evening at 7 o’clock. He had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Graff died in 1917. Mr. Graff during his life in Ionia was interested in many civic enterprises and owned considerable Main street property besides much other real estate about the city. With Nate Silver he built the Silver-Graff block, his half being occupied by Cook’s pharmacy. He was born in Germany and came to Ionia with his family many years ago. He is survived by three children, Charles Graff, of Orleans township; Herbert Graff, of Washington, D.C.; and a daughter, Miss Louise Graff, of Ossining, N.Y. A niece, Miss Josephine Graff, has lived with him here for many years. Funeral services will be held from the residence Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock, and burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
