Portland Observer – 15 March 1893
Mrs. George Graft died at her residence in this village on Wednesday morning 
last aged 56 years.  Mrs. Graft had been a resident of the village but a short 
time, having moved here from their farm in Danby last spring.  The funeral 
services were conducted from the house on Friday last by Rev. Anderson.  Mr. 
Graft is dangerously ill with but slight hopes for his recovery, we are 
informed.
The deceased had been a resident of Danby township for some years previous to 
her removal to Portland and was highly esteemed by her neighbors and friends.
Card of Thanks:  I desire to thank the friends and neighbors for the many acts 
of kindness and sympathy extended to me during the sickness and since the 
death of my wife.  I assure one and all that they are deeply appreciated.  -
