He was born August 19, 1876, the son of James and Ellen Belding Granger, on a farm west of the city, attended school here and with the exception of a few years in Detroit had been a laborer and farmworker in this vicinity most of his life. He is survived by one son, Durwood Granger, of Harrison; one brother, Glenn, of Long Lake; three nieces, Mrs. Warren Drew of Comstock Park, Mrs. Jean Cook of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Vernor Allen, of Portland; one nephew, Allen Granger of Portland, Ore. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o’clock at the Ellis Funeral Home with Rev. Ellis officiating and burial was in Otisco cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Fisk, Lee Luscombe, Sim Donovan, Richard Deitz, James Taylor and Frank Moore.
