Saranac- Mary Irene (Vos) Grant, 71, of Saranac, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 
2013, in Saranac.

She was born Sept. 19, 1942, in Greenville, the daughter of Harold and May 
(Eichelberg) Vos.

Mary married James Grant on Aug. 22, 1964, in Greenville. She was a graduate of 
Greenville High School, Class of 1960. She received a bachelor's degree from 
Central Michigan University and later attended Michigan State University, 
receiving her master's degree. Mary taught school in Carson City, Saranac and 
finished her career in Palo. She was a member of M.R.T.A. and L.A.R.S.P. and 
St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James Grant of Saranac; 
sons, Rich (Heidi) Grant of Burnsville, Minn. and Keith Grant of Hartford, 
Conn.; grandson, Alex Grant of Burnsville and several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic 
Church. Those wishing, may make contributions in Mary's name to St. Anthony's 
Catholic Church or Ionia County Animal Shelter.
