Grant, 49, of Lake Odessa died Friday night at his home of multiple sclerosis after being bedridden from this disease since late last fall. Former village president of Lake Odessa, Grant's resignation was not accepted by his fellow city officials, through tribute, when he was stricken ill but instead he was urged to serve out his term. His term ended in April, 1950, although a president pro tem had been appointed to assume Grant's duties when he became too ill from this fatal disease to work. He was born in Campbell township in Ionia county and married Marion Cutler of Ionia in March, 1924. He lived in Lake Odessa for eleven years where he was a plasterer. Grant was a member of the Rebekah's, the I.O.O.F. and the F.A.A.M. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Shattuck, Beverly and Marilyn; one grandchild; and a brother, Louis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Pickens funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery.
