Services Held for Herbert R. Grant

Herbert R.Grant, 85, rural Clarksville, passed away Saturday morning at the 
Osteopathic Hospital, Grand Rapids, after a long illness and had been 
hospitalized two weeks.

He was born in Detroit February 3, 1884, son of Allen and Mary Grant and before 
moving to Clarksville in 1932 he was employed by the Henderson Feed Company in 
Grand Rapids as a feed salesman. During his residence at Clarksville, he served 
as sexton of the cemetery for many years before retiring.

Surviving are his son James of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Mrs.Mary Heaven of 
Clarksville and Mrs.Vern (Louise) Lawe of Barryton; 12 grandchildren and 10 
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were  held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, 
Clarksville. Rev. William Williams officiated.
