She was born December 24, 1894, in Cherokee county, South Carolina, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Humphries and attended school in South Carolina. She was married in 1920 to Charles Smith, who died October of 1965. She was later married to Wilford Graves, May 27, 1971. She was a member of First Baptist church of Spartansburg, S.C. Surviving are her husband, and a daughter, Mrs. Edward Luby of Titusville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and four sisters. Mrs. Graves will be at Shaw-Rivett Hull funeral home in Muir until noon Tuesday when she will be taken to Lyons Baptist church for funeral services at 2 p.m. Rev. C. R. Harrison will officiate and interment will be at Palo cemetery. Subsequent Publication: Wednesday, December 8, 1971 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Graves were Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Lyons Baptist church, the Rev. C. R. Harrison officiating. Mrs. Lawrence Albright was organist. Funeral arrangements were made by Shaw-Rivett-Hull funeral home, and burial was in Palo cemetery. Bearers were: Charles Witmar, Charles Miller, Jesse Kendall, Lawrence Albright, Carl Fancett and Harold Alderink. Following services the Ladies Missionary group of the church served a lunch for members of the family.
