Johnson near Smyrna, at the age of 73, after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Gray was born June 15, 1880 in New York state, but moved to Michigan as a child. His early life was spent near Belding as a farmer although he had been a resident of New York for 29 years, returning to Michigan in 1946. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy Kaser of this city and Mrs. Harry Scott of Lake; four brothers, Clifford, of Portland, Oregon, Elmer of Toledo, Ohio, Archie of Imlay City, and Melford of Evart; two sisters, Mrs. Theressa Maxwell of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Bertha Couture of Lansing; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services were held on Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Huffman chapel in this city with Rev. Seth A. Davey of the Free Methodist church officiating. Pallbearers were Joe Shindorf, Dare Bryant, Rollin Brownell, Royal Davis, Harold Johnson and Harold Davis.
