Isabel left us on Friday, March 22, 2002, at the age of 54. She surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 19, 1947 in McAllen, Texas, her lifelong dream was to raise a family and to become a barber. After graduating from Davenport College, she worked for Consumers Power for 10 years. She then left to fulfill her dream of going back to school to become a barber and went on to own two shops. Isabel worked at her main shop “Jorge’s Barber Shop” in Portland, until forced to retire by her declining health. Married in 1970 to Terry Gray in Ionia, together they raised two daughters and one son. She is preceded in death by parents: Jorge and Maria Cardenas, two sisters Antonia Carrizales and Ofelia Vasquez and a grandson Timmothy McEnhill. She is survived by her husband Terry, three children Romana, Audra and Terry (Tina) Gray II, six grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters a special loving aunt Margarita Alvarado and numerous other family and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated noon Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, in Lansing, with Rev. Fr. Joe Mundadan as celebrant. Visitation was Monday at the Palmer Bush Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave. Lansing. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910.
