IONIA- Garold V. Gray, 68, of 441 Price St. died of an apparent heart attack at 
his home Monday morning.

He was born March 9, 1912, in Hopkinsville, Ky., the son of Gaylord and Agnes 
Slowinski Gray.

His family moved to Ionia when he was two years old and he lived here ever 
since.

He married Esther Lyons in Goshen, Ind. Oct. 9, 1937. She preceded him in death 
Jan. 31, 1970.

Mr. Gray worked more than 40 years for the Ionia Coca-Cola and Bottling Co. and 
was a self-employed refrigerator repairman.

He was a member of the Ionia Elks Lodge.

Surviving are three sons, Gaylord (Jerry) of Grand Rapids, Laurence of Tulsa, 
Okla. and Michael of Fla., four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Spicer of Ionia, Joan 
Gray of Md., Mrs. Pete (Diane) VanderMeer of Grand Rapids and Kathie Gray of 
Tulsa, Okla.; and 20 grandchildren. 

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Leddick Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 
9 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for the Emphysema Society.
