Green, who passed away Thursday at the Veterans’ Administration hospital in Ann Arbor. The Rev. Williams Reynders, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church, officiated. The bearers were H.M. Kelley, Alfred E. Faxon, Francis Peckins, George W. Staley, all of Lyons and Roy Early of Detroit. Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Early, Helen Staley, Marian Bestervelt, Adele Thomas, Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Beale, Port Huron. Also present were Carl Seabrook, Ionia and Otto Horrocks of Lyons, representing the Girard-Horrocks American Legion Post of Ionia, who presented the flag in honor of Mr. Green, who was a World War I veteran to Mr. Green’s sister, Mrs. Roy Early. Burial was in the Lyons cemetery. Otis E. Green, 69, was born November 14, 1891, at Howard City, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Green. He had lived in St. Petersburg, Florida and for several years, had spent the summers with his brother-in-law and sister, George W. Staley and the late Mrs. Staley, who passed away last June. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Early and a niece, Miss Helen Staley of Detroit. Mr. Green had undergone surgery several times for a malignancy of pneumonia, which developed while he was at a Plymouth convalescent home and caused him to be rushed back to the hospital and was the contributing cause of death.
