Daniel J. Green, Aged Pioneer Resident Passes Away; Ill Short Time.

One of Ionia county’s nonagenarians, Daniel J. Green, 91, passed away at the 
Reeds Lake sanatorium at Grand Rapids last Sunday morning, following an illness 
of only three weeks.  He was one of the well known and highly respected 
citizens of the commonwealth and had a host of friends, both young and old.

Mr. Green was one of the early settlers of the county.  He was born in New York 
state on October 16, 1834.  It was thirty-eight years ago that he and Mrs. 
Green, who died in 1917, moved to Ionia.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home of his only surviving 
daughter, Mrs. Emery Townsend.  Interment took place at Highland Park cemetery.
