Carol Evangeline (Horn) Green, 64, of Sheridan, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996 
at her home.  Born Jan. 16, 1932 in Ionia to Rev. Lewis H. and Edna Jean 
(Green) Horn, she married James H. Green on Sept. 2, 1956 in Ionia.

She is survived by her husband; daughters Carolyn (Brian) Deveraux of 
Plainwell, and Constance (Ryad) Djerrouf of Elgin, Ill.; sons Kevin of 
Belmont, Victor (Francie) of Ionia, and Ronald (Kenna) of Ionia; grandchildren 
Justin, Jacqilyn, Rebekah and Hannah; and brother Marshall (Sherry) Horn of 
Stroud, Okla.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graduate of Ionia High School, Mrs. Green has been a resident of Sheridan 
since 1991.  She attended South Western Bible college and worked in the 
teaching profession for a number of years, including the Guardian Angels and 
Cornerstone Schools.

Her name means “singing Evangelist” and she lived her life to that meaning.  
She sang for many years on the “Church By The Side Of The Road” broadcast.  
Also, she, Betty Wilcox, Barb Tow and Sally Koutz formed the group “Sounds of 
Praise,” and ministered at nursing homes and other events.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. Today (Monday) at the 
Sheridan Assembly of God Church, corner of M-66 and Holland Lake roads.  
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Sheridan Assembly of 
God Church, Sheridan, with the Rev. Jim Wilcox officiating. Interment will be 
at the Highland Park Cemetery, Ionia.  Memorial contributions may be made 
either to the Cornerstone Schools or the Bibles for China.  Arrangements were 
made by the Stebbins & Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan.
