Feb. 25, 1927 PNEUMONIA FATAL TO FORMER IONIA MAN IN CALHOUN Father of 13 Children Is Victim of Short Illness; Funeral Held Here Martin Almerion Green, 61, well known resident of Ionia county, passed away at his home in Emmett township, near Battle Creek, last Saturday night, following an illness of pneumonia. The funeral was held from the Baptist church of this city on Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Alfred Trenerry, pastor, in charge. Spaulding, of Battle Creek, was the officiating undertaker, and interment was made in the Tuttle cemetery in Orange township. It was 16 years ago that Mr. and Mrs. Green moved to Calhoun county to make their home. He was a member of lodge 901 of the Mystic Workers. He is survived by his widow and 13 children: seven daughters, Mrs. Pearl Crapo, East Leroy; Mrs. Ethel Lynd, Charlotte; Mrs. Angelina Thormtol, Mrs. Beulah Bristol and Mrs. Elsie Garfield, all of Calhoun county; six sons, Ervin, Ionia; Harry, Indiana; Clair and Ray, Calhoun county; Leo, Charlotte; Elzy, Urbandale and three sisters.
