Arba H. Green, 77, died unexpectedly Thursday at his home at 20 Oak drive, Ionia
township, where he had resided the past 40 years.

He was born December 31, 1886 in Bloomer township, Montcalm county, the son of
Edgar J. and Alice Green.  February 25, 1908 he was married to Ella P. McDermott
who died in 1952.  He was married at Portland, September 22, 1962 to Mary
Alcumbrack.  Mr. Greene was a self-employed salesman and at one time served as a
Salvation Army captain.  He was a member of Assembly of God church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; four daughters, Rev. Mrs. Edna Jean Horn of Ionia,
Mrs. Ernestine Bradley of North Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Gladys Helmer of Goleta,
Calif., and Mrs. Eleanor Burgwald of Grand Rapids; two sons, John Green of
Richland, and Allen Green of Lowell; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Myron Wilder of
Portland, Ore.; one stepson, C.H. Alcumbrack; 19 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenneth Green of Grandville.

The body will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until Monday noon when it will
be removed to Zion Evangelical United Brethren church for service at 2:30 p.m. 
Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
