Green 72 years of age, Friday morning at 6 o'clock Ionia lost a resident who had been active in business here for 40 years. Private services will be conducted from the house, 116 South Dexter street, Sunday afternoon at 1:30, and services for the public will be at the Boynton funeral chapel at 2 o'clock by Rev. Lewis Horn. Interment will take place in Highland Park cemetery beside Mrs. Green, who died just 11 months ago. Friends may call at the house Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday forenoon to see Mr. Green. Mr. Green, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Green, was born in Bloomer township July 8, 1858. He spent his boyhood in Bloomer township and Palo, and came to Ionia when a young man. He soon became interested in the development of Ionia, and erected many houses here, and dealt in real estate. His church affiliation was with the Full Gospel assembly, an interdenominational organization. The church on North Dexter street was donated by Mr. green to the cause, and will stand as a monument to his memory. his illness dated back to the death of Mrs. Green 11 months ago. From that time he failed in health, and for six weeks- has been confined to his bed. All through his illness he has been patient and uncomplaining, and Thursday evening fell asleep and quietly slept away. Surviving him are four sons, Arba H. Green, H. Talmage Green, and Edgar Kenneth Green, Ionia, and Allen B. Green, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, Charles C. Green, Thayer, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Ada M. Hopkins, of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
