Green were surprised when they heard of her death at Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids last Friday evening. Mrs. Green had not been in excellent health for the past five years, but as she was quiet as to her ailments and apparently healthy none but the intimate friends knew of her trouble. As nothing but an operation would cure her it was decided upon and she went to Blodgett as above stated. The operation was successful but peritinitis set in and death came last Friday evening. Mrs. Green has spent her whole life in the village or this vicinity excepting a few months at Belaire and was known comparatively by everyone. she was of a sweet cheerful disposition. She was a graduate of our high school class of 1910. She has practically grown up an active member of the United Brethren in Christ church in this place. she was always active and faithful in the service of her Lord and she leaves a place there as well as in her home which can never be replaced. Her Sunday school class of six girls acted as flower girls at her funeral depositing carnations on her as she lay in her beautiful casket and robes. The flowers were the ones she cherished while at the hospital as they were sent by the mail carriers. The girls were given a place on the platform during the services. The floral offerings were numerous, coming from a large family of relatives, friends and from the local mail carriers and the county association of carriers. Rev. Zuse her pastor gave a comforting sermon which was greatly appreciated by the bereaved who have felt the sorrow so heavy. The mail carriers acted as pallbearers and her former Sunday school class mates as honors bearers and she was laid to rest at Lakeside.
