The Portland Observer, Wednesday, November 5, 1890
Mrs. Malinda Green, relict of the late Samuel Green, died at her home near 
Collins on Wednesday last, aged 71 years.  Mrs. Green was among the very early 
settlers of the township, coming here at about the same time as the Toan 
family.  The funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Friday last 
and were attended by a large number of neighbors and relatives, by whom the 
deceased was held in high regard.  Deceased leaves a family of ten children 
grown to manhood and womanhood, a large portion of whom were present from 
abroad at the funeral.
