Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. D.L. Greene, who died at 
her home in Arcadia, Florida, May 27th, from the home of her sister, Mrs. Elma 
Kimball, east of town.  Besides the sister above mentioned, she is survived by 
a husband, two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Haight of Ionia, who assisted in her 
care in Florida, and Mrs. Ralph Crandall of Flasher, N. Dakota and a brother, 
Geo. Canfield of Detroit, who were here to attend the funeral.  Services were 
conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease and vocal solos by Mrs. Geo. H. Steadman with 
Mrs. Geo. W. Amsden accompanying.  Interment in the Lyons cemetery.

D.L. Greene, who accompanied the body of his wife from their home in Arcadia, 
Florida, to Lyons, was suffering with malarial fever on his arrival and was 
unable to even attend the funeral.  He was taken to the home of his brother, 
Irving W. Greene, and his illness has developed into typhoid fever.  The early 
part of the week it was expected he would not live, but he since he has taken a 
turn for the better and unless something unforeseen sets in will probably 
recover.
