Ionia Daily Sentinel, 4 Oct 1917

Mrs. Daniel J. Green passed away this morning at 11 o’clock at her home, 428
Union Street.  Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o’clock at the
residence.  Death followed an illness of three months, preceded by a long period
of poor health.  Mrs. Greene was born in Rensselaer county, New York, and was
one of a family of seven children only one of whom, Daniel Mattison of Ronald,
survives.  The late W. H. Mattison and Hamilton A. Mattison were brothers. 
Besides her husband, Mrs. Green leaves one daughter, Mrs. Emory Townsend, of
Ionia township, and many friends who will mourn her death, her passing leaving
only one living from the large family who came with their parents from New York
state and settled in this county when it was a wilderness and grew up with the
pioneers of the region.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that she was
buried in Highland Park Cemetery.]
