Doris Elnora Greene, 83, of Belding, died peacefully with her loving family by 
her side on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at home.  She was born April 22, 1924 in 
Paris Township, Kent County, the daughter of Ben and Nellie Austin Clark.  
Doris married Russell N. Jourdan, who preceded her in death on December 6, 
1963.  In October 1966 Doris married Ulysses M. Greene, who preceded her in 
death on December 30, 2004.  

Doris was a member of Belding Assembly of God Church.  She retired in 1974 
after 20 years of service working for Stowe Davis Fine Furniture 
manufacturing.  She and Ulysses enjoyed touring and attending antique car 
shows.  They also traveled to most of the states from Michigan to the West 
Coast.  Doris loved cooking for family gatherings, birthdays and family 
reunions.  She especially loved spending time with her family and 
friends—especially grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Steven Jourdan; 
one grandson, Mark Burleson; one sister, Gladys Uplinger; and five brothers, 
Harry, Lee, Harold, Robert and Jack Clark.  

Doris is survived by three daughters, Patricia Byrne of Belding, Kathleen and 
Jim Burleson of Attalla, Ala., Michelle Jourdan of Belding; one son, Jeffrey 
and Gayla Jourdan of Sheridan; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 
three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivien Hoskins; and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brigham Funeral Chapel, Belding, with 
Pastor Adolph Flores officiating.  Burial will follow in Ashley Cemetery.  
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until time of 
services Wednesday at the funeral home.  The family  has entrusted funeral 
arrangements to Brigham Funeral Chapel, Belding.
